All About Whistle
Whistle by Patsy Moore is the tale of a pony who loves to eat thistles, which as everyone knows are light as a feather! What do you think might happen if a pony ate a lot of thistles? Read Whistle's story and see! This all started as a poem about my pony Whistle. Then Irish folk singer Danny O'Flaherty turned the poem into a song. Along the way W.H.Wax illustrated the story and Ally-Gator BookBites published it as a book with a sing-along CD. Whistle is a pony who can teach us a thing or two about having wonderful adventures!
Whistle on Okinawa
Whistle loved the beach. She and Patsy loved to race Charles on his Honda motorcycle. (Unlike the motorcycle, Whistle could go in the water and play in the waves!) Whistle was a “family horse.”
Whistle loved cross country jumping. Here she and Patsy are on course at a competition. She was a lot of fun to ride in competition because she never realized she was shorter than most of the other horses and thought she could jump anything in her path. We had a great time!
Whistle and Patsy are on the top of a hill near the East China Sea. The runway at Naha Airbase is in the background. Look closely and you will see a C-130 aircraft taking off.
Whistle was about 4 years old at this point. Patsy was teaching her to jump.

Whistle was always ready to prick up her ears for the camera.
